Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson will be the top two players taken — in that order — in most fantasy football drafts for the 2010 season.
Here are many rankings for the rest of the top 50. A couple of things to consider heading into your draft:
• Given his history of statistical greatness, Larry Fitzgerald may very well be ranked too low at No. 24. It's possible, though, that's he's ranked too high there. Fitzgerald is likely to miss the rest of the preseason with a sprained knee, and who knows how long that injury could linger. If the Cardinals know, they aren't likely to disclose it until they have to. In the meantime, keep an eye on new starting QB Matt Leinart's production through the preseason and on Fitzgerald's progression on the injury before you decide where to draft him. Unless it ends up that Fitzgerald will miss some regular-season time with the injury, I'll gladly take him in the second round.
• Be wary of tandem running back situations. Many operate just fine and some even manage to produce great fantasy football statistics for owners of each player in the committee (see: Carolina with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart), but it can still be maddening to own a running back who shares touches every week. If you do dive into a committee situation — and there are many of them in the NFL these days — pay attention to which back is likely to get more goal-line carries. I like Jamaal Charles in Kansas City and Knowshon Moreno in Denver, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Thomas Jones and LenDale White or Correll Buckhalter steal away some goal-line touches, greatly reducing the starters' values.
